Lesson 1

The free-split, free-double mechanic

When the casino covers your second wager

Free Bet Blackjack offers a feature no other table game has: the casino pays for your splits and doubles on certain hands. You don't put up the second wager. If you win, you still get paid the full amount as if you had. The free actions: - Free splits on any pair from 2-2 through 9-9. Pair of Aces and pair of 10s are not free. - Free doubles on hard 9, 10, or 11 (any total of those values). When you click or Double on a qualifying hand, the dealer places a promotional chip next to your bet representing the second wager. If you lose, you only lose your original chip. If you win, you collect on both — without ever putting up extra money. The trade-off: Push 22. When the dealer reaches 22 (instead of busting), the dealer pushes every player bet still in action instead of paying them. That single rule is the entire reason the game has a despite the free bets.
